Has anyone seen where students that have a negative balance from last year can not charge a meal - we started school yesterday and this is what the lunch program is telling me.

I was also told it will not take the A La Carte transactions - we did not make any changes from last year.

Thank you for any thoughts.

now I am told no one can charge breakfast - I am working with PS now

Yes I had that called support and they said I customized it here is what she sent for me to fix.

I just compared my custom one and added what I customized to the new 19.4 page.

I found some information in the 19.4 Release Notes pertaining to LunchPower .... here's a snippet of that information:

Customizations
This update will impact customers who have customized PowerLunch. The ~psn tag has been changed to ~[psn] on the following pages:
/admin/powerlunch/completesale.html /admin/powerlunch/completesale.deposit.html
These pages will not work correctly until the following is updated:
<INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="psn" VALUE="~psn">
to:
<INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="psn" VALUE="~[psn]">

Does anyone know if this issue will affect Marcia Brennar's Cafe plugin? Does this only affect students with negative balances?

FYI
PowerLunch 2nd Transactions is having an Issue

We were serving 2nd lunches and noticed we are not receiving a second transaction warning.

We have a contracted PowerSchool Tech who thinks the issue is in BATCHES - 2nd transactions are going into different batches and all being recorded as 1st transactions.

With this, we cannot be alerted to a 2nd lunch or search for 2nd lunches & if we get audited we cannot find the 2nd transactions.

This was not an issue last year or in prior years.

There are times that cashiers have to log out of their machines or go fix something and a new batch starts.   For example today... a computer crashed and the cashier had to log into a different machine.

And we have multiple lines and a student can go do a different cashier for the 2nd transaction & the cashiers do not have to stay logged into the same batch during the entire time we serve meals.

PowerSchool said:   this is a known issue and it has been targeted for a 12.0.2.4 release which would be the next patch, I do not have a release date but it should be soon.

Many districts have seen this and there are lots of cases submitted. But we have only seen this on servers running version 12.

Has anyone seen this on a non-version 12 server?

I'm pretty sure we're seeing the issue on PS 11.0.5. We just purchased Marcia Brenner Cafe plugin but I'm pretty sure it indicated a second purchase back when we saw the demo. No 2nd Transaction notifications are showing now.

It doesn't seem to be happening with schools that use A La Carte.

Other wonderful things that are happening: you can't record a transaction for a different day; on the serve lunch/breakfast page, the Last 10 transactions link only shows 1; the total sales page can't add, numbers are off from actual sales.

Is anyone else having a problem with the NSSRS Student Summary Attendance getting stuck in Report Que in PowerSchool?

I have tried it with the entire school and with just a couple of grades and it will not finish processing.

I have restarted ReportWorks and that finally stopped it (it would not cancel either).

Any thoughts?

Thank you

The reason was the PS update that came out on 6-8-18 - PS was supposed to apply the update but did not - even though I reported the issue to them earlier in the week.

Aimee Muehling let me know that this is known PS issues, they released the fix late Friday. The fix came down with the security update. If you run the latest release that will fix the problem see below

It is now corrected.

Hello

I am looking to find out how other schools report Non-Public Students Receiving Assistance and have them set up in PowerSchool.

We have students attending parochial schools but receiving speech or title services from our public school.  They are at a 0.05% FTE in our PowerSchool.

The way it has been handled is that the students are in our PowerSchool in a bogus "Grade 15" and reported by manipulating an Excel spreadsheet uploaded to NDE.

These students would pull on the Sped Snap, Prog Fact, Title I reports.

                         - as we all know, that will not work in 2018-19.

Hoping someone has some advice to prepare for future NSSRS / ADVISER Reporting.

Thank you!

Kristy,
In Columbus we have the parochial schools listed in our PowerSchool.  We do Census reporting for Platte County. Any non-public student that is receiving Title or Sped services are in the non-public school they attend. We get a list of students from the non-public secretary at the beginning and in's & out's during the year.  We have our school number listed in the alternate school field on Schools/Info in District office.  We use the elementary school number that is closest to the non-public school (we have 5 elementary schools and there are 6 non-public elementary schools).  If you have any questions, call me at 402-563-7000 press 9 ext 11584

Thank you Suzanne!!!!

I will be giving you a call to talk this through more.
It has been tough to wrap my head around...

I have been asked by our Curriculum Department to search for students given a ZERO for an ASSIGNMENT.

I did Special Functions > Search By Grades/Attendance & that only seems to pull the overall grade of zero for teachers who have not given any grades yet.

Has anyone been able to search for this and if so, how?

Thank you!

Is there a way to Restrict Parent Access and NOT allow them to update data without Disabling the account?

We have a divorced family and they keep updating each others information with their own - we want to keep data on Both families.

Thank you!

I don't think so if you still want to allow them access to their parent accounts.

Since it sounds like they are being jerks (a professional term if ever there was one), an option might be to go ahead and disable parent access and provide them with a student username and password for all affected children.  They could still get in to view student grades, transactions, etc. but wouldn't have the demographic data update option available and would have to log in separately to review information for each child.

Of course, that is apt to irritate the parents (especially given their penchant for childish behavior) so administrative support or direction for taking such a step would be good.
