I have a situation I have never worked with before.

We have a student who only attends  Pre-K every other week.    Until custody is determined by the court.  Mom has her in our preschool one week then she is attending preschool in another community the week she is with dad.  How do we put this into PowerSchool?

Has anyone else dealt with the complex issue.  Thanks for any help.

I would put her on a track and then uncheck the boxes for the days she's not there.

On year we had PK students who came 2 days a week, 3 days a week and 4 days a week.

We used Calendar Tracks for each of those different situations.

Hope that helps

I installed the Nebraska State reporting update 14.12.2

Don't Do It!!!

It messed with all the primary disability codes.  the (00) No Verified Disability code is gone so all students with that code have defaulted to (01) Emotional Disturbance.  We are still investigating, and have called Tech Support.  Wanted to get this out as soon as I could .

I will keep you posted.

Currently there is no way to disable the parent portal completely.

The mobile app never forces the parent to log out. As long as they stay
logged in, it doesn't matter what you turn on or off. This is also a
security issue. What if a parent has lost their parenting rights
through divorce, custody fight, or incarceration? They can still login
to get information if they never logged out of the mobile app. Big
problem with me.

Is anyone using a fee management program that allows parents to pay for lunch, fees, activity pass and such with a credit or debit card.

If you are, who pays the fee?  Are you charging the user or is the district paying the fee?

We would like a system that integrates with PowerSchool.

Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

Kathy,

The one we have been looking at but haven't bit the bullet is eFunds for Schools. The cost is passed to the parents in the form of a convenience fee.  The last time we spoke it was a flat fee per transaction of $2.49 for credit and debit cards. The system is able to split the transactions if parents want to pay multiple accounts which can be routed different for auditing purposes.  I believe it integrates with PowerSchool but we use a separate lunch system.

Anyone using something else that has a lower per transaction rate?

We use eFunds and are real happy with it.  Parents do pay the fee. It does cost more with credit cards, they only charge $1.00 to use an echeck.  We only use it for the lunch program. We may expand later for school fees. The district can pay the fees if they prefer but it is costly. We have elected to have the parents pay for the service.

When I run part one of the CRDC report it does not pull the info on graduated seniors.

Is everyone else getting this to work?  Give me some ideas on what I may have setup wrong.

Thanks

You may need to uncheck the exclude from state reporting box on the Graduated School for it to pull. The report should be looking at the previous enrollments for the 11-12 school year but that exclusion could be causing it to not work. Try that and let me know if that resolves your issue. If it doesn’t I may need to have you submit a case and then either the tier 1 support or our new dedicated rep may be able to assist.

The above is from Wyatt Gaylor NE Product Manager

Trying report again now.

Thanks Wayatt

We are currently using PowerLunch with customized screens for our meal tracking.  We contract with LunchTime Solutions.  They would like us to look into a POS system that would give them more information as to what the student is purchasing or eating.  Is anyone using such a POS  with PowerSchool and would you recommend it.  You may contact me offline if you wish.  I appreciate your insight.  Kathy

We are using the A La Carte  version of PowerLunch which gives you the option to enter just about any information you want such as Ice Cream, Jerky, Fruit Roll ups, Extra main entree etc.  Don't know if that will help but you could check it out on PowerSource.

I saw this solution on another post, but I know LTS is wanting to look at vendor based solution.  I would love to stay with local customizations and not involve another 3rd party software solution.  Thanks

We use Lunchtime Solutions and have just switched over to PowerLunch from a 3rd party vendor.  It looks like we can provide all the information that LS is wanting using the A La Carte customization, but I don't think they were in favor of us using PowerLunch.
