Is there a way to suppress letter grades for assignment scores? We want letter grades to show for the final/term grade in Quick Lookup but I have 2 teachers requesting letter grades be suppressed for individual assignment scores. They just want the score and percentage to show. I'm told students stress out too much when they see an F on a five-point assignment. Is this even possible? TIA

I am losing my mind over this stupid report!  I have never had a problem with it before but this year I cannot get it to pull grades for my 9-12 students.  I have check my stored grades and they all appear correct.  I have checked my Reporting Store Codes at the district level.  The curious thing is that I have students that transferred in mid year.  The grades that were hand entered from their previous school appear on the report but not 1 grade for a student that has been here the entire year appears on the report.

Any suggestion will be very greatly appreciated!

I just had the same problem with new students that transfer in with their grades appearing.  I just had to delete them.

Can someone tell me the 4th, 5th and 6th grade PE Course code we are suppose to use.

Make sure your store codes are entered individually at the district.

Thank you for responding!

I am confused by your comment about deleting those grades.  Why did you do that?

I believe the correct code for elementary PE is 080125

I do have my store codes set up individually.

????

I deleted those grades because they were historical grades that belong to that student before they came into our school.  We could not report them.

Are you course codes year long or by quarter?  If year long they belong all in one file like this - Q1,Q2,S1,Q3,Q4,S2

Not sure after this why they would not pull.

My teachers are complaining that PTP allows you to override a final percentage grade but it doesn't change the letter grade to match the new grade. Is this different from PowerGrade? I don't remember getting these complaints last year. Is there something teachers need to do after overriding the final percent? TIA

If the percent is being overridden then they must also change the letter grade to match.  They are "overriding" the grade that means both letter and percent grade.

Suzanne

Thanks, Suzanne. I guess it makes sense, but wish it would grab the correct letter grade when a percent change is made. :-P

Is there a report or way for teachers to print only the final grades for their classes in PowerTeacher Pro? They tell me they can't find a report that doesn't print all grades for the term.

It's finals week, of course, and everyone is scrambling. We're also having network problems. :-P

TIA

Jane,
Have teachers go to a class then click on Grading on Left side of screen. Go down to Comment Verification and click on that it will open a page with students Term final grade only.  They can print that page for each class.

Suzanne

Duh! I knew about that page. Thank you, Suzanne! It's a rough day ...

I have been asked by our Curriculum Department to search for students given a ZERO for an ASSIGNMENT.

I did Special Functions > Search By Grades/Attendance & that only seems to pull the overall grade of zero for teachers who have not given any grades yet.

Has anyone been able to search for this and if so, how?

Thank you!

To Kristy Kennedy:

I couldn't create a comment to your entry so started a new one. For UNL staff, use 00-0000 for the Controlling District Code.

Taken from the NSSRS Student Manual "Provide the literal “00-0000” if the NDE Staff ID [Student Grades:Evaluator 1 Staff ID (7)] provided is a staff person from an agency that does not report staff data to NDE (i.e., post secondary or contracted service providers). "

I'm having troubles storing grades for my high school...I didn't have problems with semester 1 or Q1 and Q2...I've tried checking my final grade set up and my store codes...and I just can't figure it out.  Is there anyone that can help?
Thanks.

Can you be a little more specific.  Exactly what is happening when you try to store grades?  Do you have year long, quarter long and semester long classes?  What terms do you need to store credit for?  Try this:
Year long:  Store with no credit
Semester:  Store with no credit
Quarter:  Store with credit

Then go back and try this:
Year:  Store with no credit
Semester:  store with credit

Then if you have year long classes that need credit store those with credit.

So, I went back and did that, and here is what I see when I check a student's historical grades.  She only has one class showing up as S2, but should have others showing up as well.

I noticed my grades weren't saving properly when I tried to run my grades report for NSSRS.

I am also having students who do not have classes showing up on the report.  My seniors have only year long classes that are being picked up on the report.  None of my CIP classes are are the report either.  Sharon is also looking into what the problem is.

Just had a teacher report that a student showed him how the grade indicator arrow goes the wrong way when he adjusts her grade. They tested it out so he could verify the issue. For example, when he changes the grade from 91 to 92, the student's arrow goes down and when he changes the grade from 92 to 91, her arrow goes up. Has anyone else seen this issue? We are on 10.0.4. TIA

I understand there's a way in PowerSchool for teachers to indicate they've verified grades, and reports for administrators to run to see who hasn't verified grades. I've found verification reports, but how does it work on the teacher side? Is there something I need to turn on? Or is it a customization I need to load? TIA

Figured it out. :-) Teachers go to Gradebook > Select Course > Scoresheet tab > Click "S1 in Progress" > Check the "Final Grades Complete" box. Using Gradebook Verification Report for the Custom Reports Bundle.

Good morning, I just found out that the PowerTeacher Pro Gradebook does not allow individual teachers to set their round/truncate preferences for their gradebook. There is currently only a setting at school level.

I found an enhancement request regarding this missing feature. Please help me vote it up:

The quickest way to find it is to log into PowerSource, search "truncate" then click on the Enhancement request tab.

Thanks for you help on this!
