We are running the Seniors transcript and we are trying to get the Graduation Date to appear on there.  We have it set to pull (graduation_date) but no date comes out.  Where in PowerSchool is that date put in?

I created a new custom screen with a field for graduation date.  Import the correct date for seniors each year and then it pulls correctly.  Good luck!

Thank You Kris !

I'm trying to set up my Middle School to load. We have several new teachers next year, so I'm trying to put their schedule in. I set up the years and terms already. When I go to associate the new section with a term I get the individual quarters, but not the whole year. The teachers I imported from last year show the years. What did I do wrong?

In PowerScheduler, go to your active Scenario. Click on the Associate button for Terms. Make sure all the boxes to the left of the terms are checked. Submit this page and then make sure you submit the next screen too.

Does anyone have a template to import info for the Programs Fact Report that they are willing to share, or help me with fields to create one?
Thanks,
Kris

Hi Kris,
You can go to the portal and download the Programs Fact Report template.  They have all of the report templates on their site. Go to the NSSRS Secured Information tab - Project Home Page - Documents - then scroll way down.  They have all of the templates there.
Hope this helps....happy reporting!

Thank you!

My Programs Fact report keeps coming out blank, with no records.  I know it is just a step I must be missing, but I'm tired....ha.  Any ideas?

When I run my Student Summary Attendance Report from PowerSchool for the NSSRS, any attendance codes that I have left as A(Absent) are reported as "Days Truant".  Is this right?  If not what do I need to do to correct this?

Thanks for any help!

This is caused by not having an attendance category called "Unexcused". This NSSRS report requires this category.

What dates should I use to run the Enrollment Report?  If I use the beginning of school and 6-30-09 I don't pick up any exit codes.  If I use the beginning of school and the last day I only get entry records no exit records.

I'm pretty sure it is always this time of year I think about looking for a new job!

For enrollment, use the first day students were enrolled for this year as the start date and the the last day of school for the end date.  You should pick up all your students then.  You will not have exit enrollment records unless a student transfers or left thru the year.

When done with all your reports, send in one more report with just your seniors and graduate them.  If you "graduate" them too early in the process and move them into the graduated school, you can't access them anymore since they won't be currently enrolled.

For the Snapshot, use the last day of school for the start date and 6-30-09 for the snapshot date.

Thank you so much Graci.  Do you know if I could just do a "Change student field value" to set the seniors exit date and exit code on the original report?

What many are doing is using the same enrollment report, deleting all student records except seniors, and changing the enrollment activity date to the last day of school and the exit code to 203.

Does the end of school year process need to be run before you can do the school enrollment report?

Peggy,
You don't want to do EOY process until you have done all your NSSRS reports. If you did EOY, your students would be rolled up to the next grade, which would throw things off.

No,  you just have to remember to graduate your seniors.  You can do this by selecting your seniors in the drop down box select transfer out.  Remember to use the last day of school not the graduation date.  And select the 203 if they are all completers.  When you run the end of year process you can then move them to Graduate School.  This is what I was told to do, I have not done it yet, I have other reports to get done.  There is so much to remember to do before you can get one thing done.

So should I just do a student field value change to get them an exit code?

It was weird, because my rural school students, who were done on the 8th, had an activity date show up, but no exit code.

Hello,
I am working on my student snapshot and see my new student that transfered in on May 12th will not show up in my student snapshot.  He will show in Student Enrollment and Student.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I am at the ESU10 working and this one has everyone puzzled.

Thanks,

We found the answer.  My beginning date of the snapshot report has to be todays date and the ending date June 30th.

I put in the day after school was out, 05/22/2009, and got only the high school. When I put in today's date I get a blank report. Any ideas?

Hello Peggy,
What is the last day you had a student enroll?  I had a student come in the month of April and May 12th.  So we used May 21st.  They showed at the end of the report.  Try the last day of school.
Let me know or call me.

If you have one of the latest versions of Premier, you can run a report from PowerTeacher Administrator. PowerSource KB article 56081, pg 23, describes how to run the report.

Hello Everyone,

My counselor is scheduling for next year.  It is not allowing her to enroll students.   With out doing the year end process is there something else she can do to start enrolling?

If you are wanting to enroll students into courses for next year, you will have to setup a Load in PowerScheduler. There are a few steps involved with this.  PowerSource KB articles 6305 & 6750

You cannot schedule students on the live side for next year until you move into next year.  Even if you do not use Preschooler to create your schedule you need to set it up for scheduling if you want to enter schedules before you preform the EOY process.

You may want to check knowledgebase article 55644 on PowerSource for additional info.  Use the Load only process.  Let me know if I can help you.

Good luck!

Every year I get a little closer to getting this right, but I'm not there yet.

We have a morning and an afternoon session of Kindergarten. Attendance is taken in Morning Homeroom or Afternoon Homeroom. I set up a Half Day Attendance Conversion to deal with this, but I think I need to take it a step further and do 1/2 Day AM and 1/2 Day PM.

Here's where the problem comes in: When we dismiss at 11:40 for holidays, there is no afternoon Kindergarten. They have a membership day, but no attendance. Also, I set up some attendance conversions for late starts due to weather so that it would figure correctly. I didn't apply those to the Half Day Conversion because a 10 a.m. start doesn't affect Afternoon K. The result it that I have 167 membership days, but only 157 attendance days for Kindergarten.

So, I guess what I'm wanting to know is if you guys think I'm headed in the right direction? If I set up 2 separate 1/2 day attendances and apply the late start/early dismissal attendance conversions to them appropriately, will I wind up with the right number of membership/attendance days?

I know as soon as I get this figured out we'll go to all day Kindergarten :~D

Thanks in advance for any input.
