On our Kindergarten Standards based report card (object report), the teachers want to be able to use a check mark when a student masters a task.  From what I have been reading on PowerSource, check marks will not print on object reports.  Is this true?  How do others handle this?
Thanks,

We don't use check marks but use the + or - or / for grades. Above, below, standard as those do print on the object reports. Unless you get a font that will work with it, I don't if it will.

I think the biggest problem is that you can't make a grade scale with a check mark character. Your grade scale would have to be whatever the checkmark is in Zapf Dingbats, then make the text in your object report that font.

I can run the Uniq-ID State ID Request File for 9th and 10th graders, but it fails when I try with 11th and 12th graders. Any ideas why? Is there a limit of how many students it will pull at one time? (Our 9th grade class is largest at 192.) I'm using a start and end date of 9/21/2015, but changing the start date doesn't seem to help. TIA.

The most probable cause of this error is a student account with an incorrect value in the State Student Number field. The State Student Number is 10 digits. For some time now it wont allow you input more than 10, but it can allow you to input less than 10. You could export out the state student number and see if you notice any incorrect numbers. You could also select 1/2 of the group that wont print and keep on breaking down the group till you find the student's record who is causing the problem. I thought this issue had been fixed several updates ago. Please update the post when you figure out what was wrong.

Following Wayne's train of thought, you could do a quick export including the unique ID, then change the font to a fixed-width, like Courier. If there's one that isn't right, it should jump out at you.

Another thing to look for is make sure you don't have a space at the end of the state number. Sometimes when you copy/paste, you can pick up an extra space at the beginning or end of the state number.

I received the notification from PowerSchool regarding the State Report update but must have missed something from the NDE.  Can anyone fill me in on what they are talking about with associating teachers with activities and all the contact information?  Not that I don't think it's a great idea, just clueless about how this affects state reporting.  Thanks for any references!!!

PowerSchool is running slow for us. Anyone else? We are hosted by PowerSchool.

Also hosted and seem to be fine!

Thanks, Kris. Must just be us. We probably need another restart after the update.

PowerSchool mobile app has a new feature that shows grades turn green when they go up and red when they go down. We have students stressing when they see the red next to their grades. :-(

There's already a PowerSource Enhancement Request submitted for the ability to turn off this grade tracking feature. Please vote for this! ID is 7582 in PowerSource.

Thanks!

It seems like there was a way to copy a calendar from a school to your other schools in PS.  I have it setup in our HS, but would like the same one to go to JH and Elementary.  Anyone doing this?

Yes.  Go to District - District Calendars - You can share calendars with your other schools.  Make sure your bell schedules are set up and that your times and day are EXACT. It will not copy over if there is any difference at all.  Such as title of bell schedule, time differences.  Check every school.  Once all that is set works great!

Thanks Rebecca for the inforamtion.  Never knew that was there before.  The issue is I have done my HS calendar, and need that one to go to the Elementary and JH schools.  I don't want to set it up in District, as that would involve having to setup the whole calendar again.  I thought there was a way to do it in DDA.

Paul,
there is an OLD customization called calcopy that I have and use to copy from one school to the next.  Let me know if you would like the pages.  I just bring them up in the URL using the path to them in the webfoot they are not linked to any pages I have.
