Has anyone else noticed that the Teacher Attendance Submission page will not display who has or has not taken attendance until mid-morning?
We try to check by 8:30 am so we can start prompting teachers to take attendance and then calling to see where absent students are.
I wonder if there is a time setting someplace or something that PS can adjust?
Go to: School< Attendance < Teacher Attendance Submission
Thank you

DO NOT transfer seniors out of PowerSchool!! NDE has seen several districts do this and it is not the correct thing to do.
ADVISER requires a 210 exit code record be sent for graduated seniors, but this doesn't require you to transfer the seniors out of PowerSchool. Transferring out the seniors will causes more errors. All that needs to be done is to set the seniors Exit Code to whatever your school uses for graduated and change the Exit Date. The Exit Date can be any date between their last day in attendance and the day after the last day in the calendar.
HINT: To do this quickly, you can use the Student Field Value function to do a mass change.

I'm assuming you all received the emails today from Powerschool Communities and Technote. Is PowerSchool 12.x going to change to PowerSchool 19.x with the next upgrade?? Am I reading that correctly? I guess the next version would be PS 13.x and some might consider that unlucky ...

I just got the banner notice that my server will be updated to PS 12 on Sunday. Anyone else seeing this?
I've submitted a support case and turned off auto-updating on my server. But I thought PowerSchool would NOT auto-update you to PS 12 until you specifically requested it. Aren't they still supporting updates to PS 11?
We just installed a new registration forms package that isn't PS 12-ready, plus we're nowhere near ready for PS 12. =:-0

FYI
PowerLunch 2nd Transactions is having an Issue
We were serving 2nd lunches and noticed we are not receiving a second transaction warning.
We have a contracted PowerSchool Tech who thinks the issue is in BATCHES - 2nd transactions are going into different batches and all being recorded as 1st transactions.
With this, we cannot be alerted to a 2nd lunch or search for 2nd lunches & if we get audited we cannot find the 2nd transactions.
This was not an issue last year or in prior years.
There are times that cashiers have to log out of their machines or go fix something and a new batch starts. For example today... a computer crashed and the cashier had to log into a different machine.
And we have multiple lines and a student can go do a different cashier for the 2nd transaction & the cashiers do not have to stay logged into the same batch during the entire time we serve meals.
PowerSchool said: this is a known issue and it has been targeted for a 12.0.2.4 release which would be the next patch, I do not have a release date but it should be soon.

Is anyone else having a problem with the NSSRS Student Summary Attendance getting stuck in Report Que in PowerSchool?
I have tried it with the entire school and with just a couple of grades and it will not finish processing.
I have restarted ReportWorks and that finally stopped it (it would not cancel either).
Any thoughts?
Thank you

I just received our PowerSchool invoice and noticed we did not get billed for the former E-Registration plugin. We purchased it a couple years ago from Grant Wood AEA and it was bought by PowerSchool last year. I'm curious if anyone else who's been using E-Registration sees it on their PowerSchool invoice?? We are planning to switch to Phoenix Learning's SchoolForms in June but I'm wondering what happened to our E-Registration subscription. TIA

I just learned that PowerSchool purchased E-Registration last spring. (I guess I missed an earlier announcement.) Has anyone heard how this will affect E-Registration users, since PowerSchool also owns InfoSnap? Will they be merged? Will E-Registration be phased out and moved over? I don't remember the last time I saw a bill for E-Registration ...

When I go to run my report cards for the Elementary we have two different ways teachers have them listed. By percent grade for grades 3-6 and by S/U grades for K-2. My percent report cards are printing as they should. When I print my K-2 report cards, I end up with a percent. I have went into set up in system reports and changed from percent to current grade. This gives me blank report cards.
Is there a spot in PS that allows me to print the S/U grades? Or is this something that the system is no longer capable of?
Also, if there is no grades in some subjects, it gives that child a 0 instead of a dashed line. Any ideas on fixing that?

Just upgraded from 10.1x to 11.0.1, had also attemped an upgrade to 11.0.0.1. All cases produced the following problem:
Upgrade install proceeds normally and successfully. Starting PS service results in the PowerSchool Message service quitting and the following message in the PS Monitor: ERROR PSLog - Unable to connect to the Application Message Service at tcp://x.x.x.x:61616. PowerSchool will continue to attempt the connection for the next 5 minute(s).
The next schema update seems to complete, but a restart of the services brings you right back to the same place, with the same schema update.
Found a solution on PowerSource at https://support.powerschool.com/article/75808
The article states that the kahadb database isn't getting verified, with kills the message service. The solution is to rename the kahadb folder and start services, which generates a new kahadb. There is a warning that other connected subscription services such as EdFi may not receive messages from PS, and that a full sync may be required.
I haven't checked on EdFi yet, but this did solve my problem. Just wanted to share in case anyone else runs into this when upgrading to PS 11.0.x. Not sure if this affects hosted users.

To Kristy Kennedy:
I couldn't create a comment to your entry so started a new one. For UNL staff, use 00-0000 for the Controlling District Code.
Taken from the NSSRS Student Manual "Provide the literal “00-0000” if the
NDE Staff ID [Student Grades:Evaluator 1 Staff ID (7)] provided is a staff person from an agency that does
not report staff data to NDE (i.e., post secondary or contracted service providers). "
