Immunization (3)
I have a secretary that has entered all of the immunizations in on her students.

Now she is trying to run a report that shows all the immunizations for her 7th graders.

I am not seeing a report in PowerSchool that will do that.

Does anyone else run Immunization reports out of PowerSchool? If so how?

I used to have an immunization report at my previous school for the nurse to run. I got it from another school and customized it.

Now that I think about it, I might have had a custom health screen back then for immunizations. I seem to recall PS didn't have much for health information.

Ray Bentzen .... is there still a working immunization report on your PowerSchool server?

There is one on the PowerSource exchange that works fairly well.

I tried a few on PowerSource but none of them seemed to work. Do you know which one you are referring to? Maybe I have not tried that one.

A question was raised after the PowerSchool Sharing session about immunization codes. Do any of you have a list of immunization codes that you would share for those non-nurses in the group who have to enter this into PowerSchool?

If so, would you make a comment below or send to me at and I'll post the list on the Community as a document.

Here is what Pearson has in their documentation, but don't feel you have to follow this:

We are suggesting the following name/code when setting up the Health Vaccine area at the district level in PowerSchool. Should your state/province have different naming or codes, you would then use the conventions advised by your state or province. Additionally, should you need to split out vaccines such as MMR determine how you plan to code those vaccines.

Name - Code

 Polio - IPV

 HIB Meningitis – HIB

 Hepatitis B – HepB

 Hepatitis A – HepA

 Varicella (Chicken pox) - VCP

 Rotavirus - RV

 Tetanus - Td

 Tuberculosis - TB

 Influenza - INF

 Pneumococcal Conjugate - PCV

 Pneumococcal Polysaccharide - PPV

This is basically what I used when I set mine up, I did set up two separate Varicella codes, one for use that they've had the disease, and one for the vaccine.  This seems to be very user-friendly in editing if you make a mistake in the initial set-up.  (So far, anyway!)
I've got all of my high-school students entered, but not the other sites...I have  corrected, added, etc. as I went thru the students.
PS-We didn't have this on computer previously, so there weren't any files to match up or upload.

Tanya:  How did you do this for varicella?  Our nurses want to put in something when they have the disease...we can put in an approximate date (parents usually say age 3 or something like that)...or what?   They want it to show that it was the disease, not the vaccine.   If we put it in the comments, it doesn't show just on the screen.   Any ideas to make it simple?

A while back I saw some questions flying around about how a district would store health/medical information of students in PowerSchool.  There were a couple of ways to do this, either use a third party system or create custom pages/screens with all the necessary fields in PS for your data.  I was never really a fan of either but with the release of PowerSchool 6.1 and Health Management, it may satisfy the requirements you are looking for to manage your student’s health records.  If you want to implement this in your district, download PowerSource article 59166.
If you want to take a quick peek, here are a few quick notes on setup.  All immunizations, screening and grade level entry certifications are defined in the district office under District Setup.  You must enable the “Health” screen for each security group.  System --> Security --> Groups --> Select Group (example Nurses).  Now give appropriate access rights to that group.  I gave our nurses View/Modify/Delete for Certification and Screening and View/Modify for Immunization under the Health and Immunization section.  Don’t forget to check the checkbox “Health” under the Accessible Student Screens for access on student pages.  Scroll and hit submit.  As with Incident Management, I believe you will be able to generate reports from ReportWorks at a later date.

I do not see a plus or add sign on the immunization screen I am failry sure i have all access set up correctly to read/write and delete if an option. Any other ideas.

Just for kicks, go to School Setup --> Miscellaneous under General --> Uncheck Show student photo on student screens.  Submit and try it again.  PowerSource ID: 59031  It seems fixed with 6.1 here but who knows.  If that doesn't work did you try to disable customizations.  Lastly, image server -> did you copy over the new scripts/images etc?

What are you using for Exemption Types and Codes?
