This year we are adding a zero hour into our class scheduling.  Not all students will have to sign up for a zero hour class.  For instance, the kids that play JH sports will sign up for the zero hour as part of their PE credits. Some of the zero hour classes will be for HS students as well.  Not sure how to set it up where the attendance data reflects that this is an extra period.

Does anyone have any experience with setting up something like this in PS?

Do no add the 0 period to the bell schedule. That will make it a non-attendance period.

So, how should I add it in.  It will be classes that take attendance and grades.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood. If you are going to mark attendance in that class, this process would not work.  For me, I would assign those students a different FTE with a different attendance conversion to calculate the attendance correctly for those students.

It seems like there was a way to copy a calendar from a school to your other schools in PS.  I have it setup in our HS, but would like the same one to go to JH and Elementary.  Anyone doing this?

Yes.  Go to District - District Calendars - You can share calendars with your other schools.  Make sure your bell schedules are set up and that your times and day are EXACT. It will not copy over if there is any difference at all.  Such as title of bell schedule, time differences.  Check every school.  Once all that is set works great!

Thanks Rebecca for the inforamtion.  Never knew that was there before.  The issue is I have done my HS calendar, and need that one to go to the Elementary and JH schools.  I don't want to set it up in District, as that would involve having to setup the whole calendar again.  I thought there was a way to do it in DDA.

there is an OLD customization called calcopy that I have and use to copy from one school to the next.  Let me know if you would like the pages.  I just bring them up in the URL using the path to them in the webfoot they are not linked to any pages I have.

OK, here's my question for today: Why is my School Event Calendar not working in the parent portal? I can't find anything in PowerSource or on PSUG about troubleshooting it. Calendar dates are set up under Notes in School Setup > Calendar Setup. In the past, I haven't had to do anything to turn the calendar event calendar on. When I log in as a parent and subscribe to the school event calendar, I get an empty calendar called "District" instead of "Marian High School." What's not set correctly? Thank you, Oh Great PowerSchool minds!
